About Us & Our Story
Madden's Chicken-Giving started out in 2021, when young founder Madden Moore lost his wallet while shopping. He lost his wallet, and his Mom (Meagan Moore-Jones) made a Facebook post in an attempt to recuperate the lost funds. The amazing Muncie community donated money and Madden ended up with a lot more than he first started with. This act of kindness compelled Madden to give back to his community, and with lots of thought, his family and him decided they would go to their local Meijer® and purchase rotisserie chickens to hand out around town. Just like that, the Chicken-Giving was born.
In 2022, Madden and his family decided they wanted to make this action a tradition, but in a bigger fashion. They promoted this as an event on social media, and set the date to hand these meals out as the day prior to Thanksgiving. The community once again provided, and they were able to hand out over 350 meals to the impoverished community! Businesses sponsored the event, local organizations got involved, news stations covered it, volunteers came to help, and a local church provided a space to host!
Year after year, Madden's Chicken-Giving has grown into a beacon of hope and love for not only the Muncie community, but for the communities of 6 different Indiana counties. We have provided around 3,000 meals to our friends in need, and don't plan on stopping anytime soon. Our Mission
To fight vivaciously against food insecurity and inspire youth to be active disciples of Jesus through faith-based, eye-opening ministry. In essence, we want to help as many of our friends in need as we possibly can by providing them with a warm Thanksgiving meal; a delicacy many take for-granted.
